WHAT DOES A TRILLION
DOLLARS LOOK LIKE?

All this talk about "stimulus packages" and "bailouts"...

A billion dollars...
A hundred billion dollars...
Eight hundred billion dollars...
One TRILLION dollars...
|
|
What does that look like?
I mean, these various numbers
are tossed around like so many doggie treats.
We'll start with a $100 dollar bill.
Currently the
largest U.S. denomination in general circulation.
Most everyone has seen
them, slightly fewer have owned them.
Guaranteed to make friends wherever
they go.
|
 |
|
A packet of one hundred $100 bills is less than 1/2"
thick and contains $10,000.
Fits in your pocket easily and is more than enough for week or two of
shamefully decadent fun.
|
 |
|
Believe it or not, this next little pile is
$1 million dollars (100 packets of $10,000).
You could stuff that into a
grocery bag and walk around with it. |
 |
|
While a measly $1 million looked a little
unimpressive,
$100 million is a little more respectable.
It fits neatly on a
standard pallet... |
 |
|
And $1 BILLION dollars...
It sits nicely on 10 pallets.
Now we're really
getting somewhere... |
 |
|
Next we'll look at ONE TRILLION dollars.
This is that
number we've been hearing so much about.
What is a trillion dollars?
Well,
it's a million million.
It's a thousand billion.
It's a one followed by 12
zeros.
1,000,000,000,000
You ready for this?
It's pretty surprising.
Go ahead...

Ladies and gentlemen...
Welcome to $1 trillion dollars... |
| ONE TRILLION
DOLLARS... |

Notice pallets are double stacked.
And remember each pallet is 100 million dollars per pallet...
($100,000,000)
Or, 200 million per double stacked pallets...
($200,000,000)
Or, 50 double-stacked pallets across by 100 double-stacked
pallets deep
Or, a million billion dollars - Or, 1 trillion dollars...
($1,000,000,000,000)
So the next time you hear someone toss
around the phrase
"a trillion dollars here and a trillion dollars there"
...this is what they're talking
about.
OBSERVATION - POINT OF VIEW
There is a feeling - through a lack of information
that we the people don't have access
to information which would help us
understand the game or gamesmanship
hopefully being played out
to our benefit.
But when things are done in secret
behind closed doors
how can we be or become
good stewards of our democracy
as citizens?
If you really think about it
what is money today
but 0's and 1's transactions of
debit cards and credit cards
brought into existence by
loans or payments for services rendered
which creates jobs to
provide more things and services
that people want and
have the money to buy?
Could it be our monetary system
is being sabotaged by the creation of
massive digital dollars to create
poorly structured and irresponsible loans and transactions
which create unplayable debt
where there is no return on the investment
that eventually needs to be written off
as a loss at some point in the future?
I can only guess the game being played is like
musical chairs where
the one who is sitting in
the last chair
WINS financial control of the World!
